DALMAC – Sept 2-6, 2009

Founded in 1971 by former State Sen. Dick Allen, the 2009 DALMAC offers 2,400 bicyclists a choice of five routes beginning from MSU in East Lansing and ending in Mackinaw City or DeTour Village. Proceeds from the tour support The DALMAC Fund, which grants money for bicycle-related projects statewide.

Sunrise Adventure – June 19-21

Based in Rogers City at the northeastern tip of the Michigan Mitt, this is a Friday-Sunday ride with variable distances (40 & 60 mi. daily options.
Several of the regular Saturday morning group are going.

Distance: 23, 42 Fee: $20; After 6/13 $25; DOE
Both routes include Harsens Island. Surrounded by the South, North and Middle Channels, riders enjoy an “away from it all” feeling! The long route adds a ride through the State Park and the shore of the St. Clair River.

Ride for Hope Cancelled

Bummer. They have canceled the Ride for Hope, originally scheduled for June 27 in Attica. Apparently the tough economic times didn’t give them the riders they needed to register to break even. Organizers said they would refund all those who paid ahead of time.
Michigander – July 11-19
Many of our regular Saturday morning riders will be doing the 2009 Michigander Bicycle Tour. This annual ride ventures across some of Michigan’s scenic rail trails and back roads. This family-friendly ride will take place on the Fred Meijer Heartland Trail, Pere Marquette Railtrail, White Pine Railtrail and Saginaw Valley Trail. All routes this year will be circle tours with an average of 40-60 miles per day with the start and finish lines in Edmore, MI. A raod route is also available.
