Hi I have been mountain biking for awhile and need something decent for the road. I’ve been looking at a Bianchi vigorelli that’s a couple years old for $1000, an 08 specialized allez comp for $600, and a khs 300 or 500 new for $700. If anyone has any advice on these or another good bike for around the same price range it would really be appreciated.

Okay so I’ve done a lot of mountain bike riding and have seen some of the damage it does to the chain-stay. I’ve gotten into road biking and what I’m wondering is since road biking has much less bouncing, how much of a deal is chain slap? Also, where does it occur, on the top or bottom of the chain stay?
This is my first time posting to this forum, I am a college student who has been into mountain biking for about 2 years.

Right now i’m currently riding on a regular san marco saddle that came with my Jamis ventura comp. When I was in the swing of riding season, I could ride it for….20-25 miles before it started giving me pain, but after this previous winter, it seems that it only takes 10-15 miles for pain to accumulate.
